The Mind-Body Weight Loss Program

A holistic program that targets both mental and physical barriers to weight loss.

Weight loss can be a struggle. There is a lot of information out there about different diets with each one claiming to be the best way to lose weight. On top of this, if you struggle with emotional eating, anxiety or low mood it can be even more challenging to stick with a diet long enough to lose weight and maintain that weight loss. You may even find that the thought of trying to lose weight feels so restrictive and intimidating that it makes you want to eat more. Hormones, sleep difficulties, gut health, and daily habits can also interfere with the weight loss process.

Programs exist that focus only on the physical aspects of weight loss like diet and exercise. There are also programs that address just the emotional aspects like your relationship with food and generic meditation recommendations. In my experience, people need both and they need individualized plans. I’ve found that my patients are most successful on their weight loss journey when I guide them through a plan that does not feel too restrictive and that addresses their unique mental and physical barriers to weight loss. After years of helping patients lose weight this way, I’ve created a system that does all of this.


How It Works

The program involves 3 individualized sessions. Throughout each session, we will be using various tools like dietary changes, herbal remedies, nutritional supplements, lifestyle and mindset changes to support your weight loss efforts. Your insurance may cover these visits if you have coverage for a naturopathic doctor.


SESSION 1: Gather and Begin

In this session, I will ask you detailed questions to get a sense of what physical and mental health factors are contributing to your weight, determine if testing would be helpful in your case, and begin recommending ways we can gently modify your diet to help with weight loss. 

  • Fee: $200, duration 1 hour

SESSION 2: Mind

During your second visit, we will address any mental / emotional factors that could be interfering with your weight loss journey. We’ll address factors like anxiety, low mood, stress, emotional eating and your relationship with food. 

  • Fee: $100-$150, duration 30-45 minutes

SESSION 3: Body

In this session, we will address physical factors that may be interfering with weight loss such as hormonal imbalances, gut health, inflammation, poor sleep, and exercise.

  • Fee: $100-$150, duration 30-45 minutes

After these 3 sessions, if needed, we can come up with a follow up plan that works best for you.


Who This Program is For

This program is for you if:

  • You are experiencing mental health symptoms like anxiety, depression or emotional eating and feel that this is negatively impacting your weight loss journey 

  • In addition to the above, you want to address physical factors like hormones, gut health, inflammation, diet and/or lifestyle that could be impacting weight 

  • You want a gentle, non-restrictive and holistic approach to weight management 


What you won’t find in this program:

  • A quick fix or “magic” supplement that will lead to rapid weight loss

  • A fad diet or really strict diet

  • If you think that mental or emotional factors are not playing a role in your weight, you can contact me about a different approach.
